Monmouth Mall Medical Office Opens, With Bon Jovi Test Kitchen

EATONTOWN, NJ — The new Robert Wood Johnson medical outpost at the Monmouth Mall is now open and seeing patients.

The Anne Vogel Family Care and Wellness Center had a soft opening last week, July 20, without much fanfare. It is located at 200 Wyckoff Road in Eatontown, near the Boscov’s at the Monmouth Mall.

The medical office is connected to Monmouth Medical Center, the award-winning hospital in Long Branch owned by RWJBarnabas Health.

This medical center at the mall represent RWJ's expansion into suburban Eatontown, as the hospital network tries to attract suburban customers right where they live, shop and take their children to school.

1,000 1- and 2-bedroom apartments proposed for Monmouth Mall

This comes at the same time the borough of Eatontown will likely approve a request from Kushner Cos. to build 1,000 one- and two-bedroom apartments at the mall.

Kushner is the owner of Monmouth Mall. Retail business at Monmouth Mall has been dwindling for years, and Kushner wants to transform part of the property into residential housing. The J.C. Penney at the mall will close this October and likely be torn down, as Kushner has plans to reduce the size of the mall by 25,0000 square feet.

The new residential complex would be called "Monmouth Village" and Kushner wants to build walking and biking trails around it.

The proposal will be formally discussed at this Wednesday's July 27 Eatontown Council meeting, held at borough hall at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend that meeting.

1,000 Apartments Considered At Monmouth Mall, J.C. Penney Closing

The four-story, 82,000-square-foot Anne Vogel Center offers:

• Children's healthcare, including pediatric subspecialty practices in cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, pulmonology and infectious diseases
• A Breastfeeding Wellness Center
• Women’s services including maternal/fetal medicine physician offices
• Mental healthcare: The building also serves as the new home for Monmouth Medical Center's pioneering Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders Center (depression and anxiety before, during and after pregnancy)
• Urgent Care
• A blood drawing station and lab to test blood
• A test kitchen to promote healthy eating and cooking: Health and wellness education through the LiveWell Center and a demo kitchen featuring Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi Nutrition Education Programs
• Children’s Specialized Hospital, operated by RWJBarnabas Health, is on the second floor and offers audiology, developmental and behavioral pediatrics, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology and speech language therapy. This is the first Children's Specialized Hospital location in Monmouth County.

Where the name came from

In January, Monmouth Medical Center announced that philanthropist Sheldon Vogel donated a $10 million naming gift in memory of his beloved wife and cherished hospital benefactor and friend, Anne Vogel. This generous gift came on the heels of the Vogels’ record-breaking $50 million donation given to the hospital in 2020 to establish the Vogel Medical Campus in Tinton Falls, which is currently under development three miles away.
