Seabrook Residents Present Musical, November 10 – 12

Residents from Seabrook, an Erickson Living Retirement Community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, will present the musical, “Under Four Flags,” on November 10, 11 and 12. The entertaining musical is the 17th show directed and produced by resident Lindo Meli, who will also perform in the show.

Meli moved to Seabrook in 2008 and started the Seabrook Performers a year later. Meli has many years of experience working both in theater and radio. He has performed and directed more than 250 shows, both on radio and stage, and has worked with many famous actors, including Lauren Bacall, Gene Barry, Raymond Burr, and Peggy Cass. While in the U.S. Signal Corp, he appeared in many U.S. Special Services shows, Brisbane Repertory shows, and Australian Broadcasting System radio shows.

“I have loved theater my whole life,” said Meli. “It is a joy to have the opportunity to produce another wonderful show at Seabrook. Residents are very talented and hardworking. But they are doing what they love too.”

The Seabrook Performers, a group of residents and one staff member, perform on stage as well as behind the scenes on set design, costumes, lighting, and choreography. The club is one of more than 100 resident-run clubs on campus.

The show’s musical director is Seabrook resident Norma Linzalone, who has been the accompanist for all of Seabrook’s musical performances.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door. All proceeds from ticket sales are donated to the Seabrook Resident Care Fund, which provides support to residents who, despite careful planning, outlive their financial resources. The play will run 7:30 p.m. on November 10 and 11 and at 2:30 p.m. on November 12 in Seabrook’s Town Square Auditorium, 3000 Essex St., Tinton Falls, N.J. Doors open ½ hour before show time.

Seabrook’s is home to more than 1,400 residents. The community offers abundant amenities, hundreds of resident-run clubs and activities, on-site restaurants, a state-of-the-art medical center, an all-season pool and a fitness center. Seabrook was named to NJBiz’s list of “20017 Best Places to Work in New Jersey.” For more information, visit www.seabrookcommunity.com.
