Seabrook’s Personal Moving Consultant Helps Residents Avoid the Hassles of Moving

Erickson Realty and Moving Services helps with all aspects of moving from selling home quickly to packing.

Moving can be a nerve-racking experience especially after many years in a home. When Pam and Wayne Steadman decided to move from Asbury Park to Seabrook, an Erickson Living Retirement Community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, they avoided many of the challenges by using the community’s Realty and Moving Services Program.

Seabrook’s Personal Moving Consultant Laurie Williamson assisted the Steadmans with their move from start to finish. She traveled to their home and customized a moving plan tailored specifically to their needs including helping them select a moving company, downsizing, and other vendors. In addition, as part of the complimentary service Williamson provides, she assisted the couple with planning the placement of their furniture through the use of a customized floor planning tool.

“Laurie was incredibly helpful with our move,” said Pam. “She knows her business, and both Wayne and I were impressed with how easy she made the process of moving.”

Through the Erickson Realty and Moving Services program, Williamson also assists prospective Seabrook residents by connecting them with preferred realtors who are experts in the sale of homes in their specific neighborhoods.

“Customers using our preferred real estate agents had much fewer days on market listings compared to customers who hired their own. Our preferred agents have a familiarity with Seabrook, understand our client and their needs, and price homes correctly,” Williamson says.

More than 98 percent of future residents choose to use one or more of the services offered by Williamson and the Erickson Realty and Moving Services program.

The Steadmans are now settled into their new home at Seabrook and embracing the community’s vibrant and active lifestyle. Wayne, who is a retired engineer for Mobil Oil (now ExxonMobil), is a member of the Resident Advisory Council’s Finance Committee and enjoys playing Pickleball on campus. Pam, a retired teacher who is currently working as a playwright, is part of the Seabrook writers group and a member of the Resident Life Welcoming Committee. She also recently launched the popular Seabrook TV show. “A Broad and Her Music.” As host of the show, she interviews guests from on and off campus about their love of music.

“Wayne and I feel right at home,” said Pam. “We feel relaxed in the fact that we can just close our door when we go on trips. And we don’t have to worry about repairs anymore, as well as mowing grass and shoveling snow.”

“My job is to make the move to Seabrook as stress-free and smooth as possible for our residents so that they can exchange home maintenance for vibrant, active, worry-free living,” said Williamson.
