'Snowman Sam,' The Cat Saved From Euthanasia Needs A Home

Monmouth County SPCA is hoping someone will step up and adopt this beautiful boy, who has two different-colored eyes.

EATONTOWN, NJ - 'Snowman Sam' hasn't had it easy during his short life.

The two and a half-year-old cat was on the "urgent' list at a North Caroline shelter. Translation - he most likely would have been put down due to his feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) status. But the Monmouth County SPCA had a dog transport van in the area and was able to rescue him, thanks to a volunteer, according to the SPCA's Facebook page.

Cats who are infected with feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) have compromised immune systems, but if kept inside and proper veterinary care and vaccinations, can live for years, according to the SPCA.
