Sunny Skies, Very Calm Surf At Monmouth County Beaches Today

A nearly perfect beach day is ahead for Monmouth County

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ - You couldn't ask for a nicer beach day. It doesn't get much better than this.

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies, with a high in the lower 80s. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 miles per hour, becoming southeast at 10 miles per hour in the afternoon. There is no lightning threat and no rain in sight.

Waves will only be two feet high, with southeasterly swells of 2 feet. The ocean water temperature has dipped to 72 degrees. But that could vary depending upon what beach you go to. The rip current risk is low. But rips can still occur anytime, anyplace, especially near jetties and other structures. Make sure to swim on a guarded beach and never, ever swim alone or at night.
