Swing for Good!

Tee up to bring holiday joy to children and adults in need at the 21st annual Holiday Express Golf Classic on June 12 at Deal Golf and Country Club.

Presented by Jersey Mike’s Subs, a long-time supporter of Holiday Express, the charity golf outing aims to raise support to benefit the nonprofit during its 30th anniversary year of brightening the holidays for nearly 30,000 people facing mental and physical challenges, homelessness, addiction, illness and other struggles.

Proceeds from the charity event will help make it possible for Holiday Express to bring live music, gifts and holiday entertainment to 100 nonprofit agencies and organizations in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania from Nov. 1 to Dec. 24, 2023.

“We believe that kindness is the greatest gift that we can give to nurture the care and respect that all people need and deserve,” said Holiday Express founder Tim McLoone, who established the charity in 1993.

Eileen Higgins, the organization’s executive director said, “the charity event will bring together golfers who want to spend a day on the course with friends, colleagues and business partners while supporting Holiday Express’ mission of sharing the gift of human kindness.”

The outing will feature two shotgun starts, one at 8 a.m. and the second at 1 p.m. Golfers will enjoy a continental breakfast and lunch, plus culinary treats on the course from the Robinson Ale House in Long Branch. The event will end with a cocktail reception and awards dinner where prizes will be presented for Team Best Ball, Individual Gross and Callaway, Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin.

For supporters who don’t golf but would like to chip in to support Holiday Express, tickets are available for the cocktail party and dinner. Additionally, Holiday Express will be selling raffle tickets to win rounds of golf at exclusive clubs in the area.

The event committee is led by Chairman Kieran Higgins with support from Board of Directors Chairman Terel Cooperhouse, Rocky Falotico, Sharon Kitley, Dianne Merserlin, former Executive Director Don Pignataro and Phil Villapiano.
