Thomas Giles Of West Long Branch Dies At 84

Services will be held on Wednesday and Thursday.

Thomas Giles, of West Long Branch died on Feb. 18, 2017. He was 84.

Thomas was born in Toomebridge, County Antrim, Northern Ireland to James and Ellen (Johnson) Giles. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1952. Thomas honorably served our country from 1953-1957 in the U.S. Air Force.

He earned his ME from Steven's Institute of Technology and then a masters from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Tom had a long and successful career working in the software industry for a variety of organizations.

He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Noel Giles. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Daphne (Slade) Giles, his son John and daughter-in-law, Carrie of Eatontown, his only grandson, Thomas and a brother, William Brian Giles of Santa Cruz, CA.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at the Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad St., Eatontown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jerome's RC Church, 254 Wall St., West Long Branch at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23.
