TINTON FALLS, NJ – Three local moms are running on a joint ticket for three open Board of Education positions this fall.

Incumbent Natalie Watson has been on the board since 2018 and is a partner in a New Jersey law firm, where she helps businesses navigate their legal issues so they can focus their time and energy on innovation.

Watson plans to build on her efforts to address issues with technology, accessibility and funding for special education.

Dr. Lora Smith-Staines is an award-winning scientist who frequently participates in public meetings, collaborating and interacting with residents.

Smith-Staines plans to use her science background to help improve STEM/STEAM curriculum for the district.

Toni Alfano is an educator in the Middletown Public School District and is about to enter her 22nd year of teaching. She is a certified K-8 educator with an emphasis on early childhood education.
