Fair Lawn Crash Leaves Several Injured: Police

FAIR LAWN, NJ — A single-car crash at the intersection of 17th Street and Columbia Street in Fair Lawn left four people injured on Friday, a Fair Lawn Police Department spokesperson said. None of the injuries were life-threatening, police said.

Officers found the 2007 Honda van struck a tree, after the driver, a 60-year-old Newark man, swerved to his right to avoid a car coming from the opposite direction in the middle of the road. The driver was taken to an area hospital with a head injury, and the car had to be towed away from the scene, police said.

In addition, three others were injured, including the front seat passenger, a 34-year-0ld Paterson woman; and two of the four back seat passengers, a 33-year-old Orange City man and a 25-year-old Allendale woman. The other two passengers were uninjured, police said.

The road was reopened roughly an hour after the incident occurred, police added.
