2 Mysterious, Week-Long Disappearances In NJ: Here's The Latest

UPDATE: An Amber Alert was issued for a 5-year-old girl. A woman is missing after a fire.

NEW JERSEY – Widespread searches continue in two mysterious, but separate New Jersey disappearances that have lasted at least a week, and have dozens of law enforcement officers scouring social media as well as parks, lakes and forests for clues.

An Amber Alert remained in effect Monday for a 5-year-old girl who the FBI said was abducted last week. And a New Jersey woman remains missing after a fire two weeks ago; although a man was arrested in connection with the incident, her location remains a complete mystery.

  • Authorities were seeking possible clues or signs on Monday that people could provide in the week-long Amber Alert search for an abducted 5-year-old New Jersey girl. The Cumberland County Prosecutors asked anyone who was in the Bridgeton City Park Recreational Area on Monday, Sept. 16, between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m., to check their cellphones to see if they took photos and/or videos while they were in the area. The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office also sought to educate people who may be "unknowingly associating" with the offender in the case.   • An Ocean Township house-fire investigation led to the arrest of one resident while the other remains missing, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office announced last week. Authorities asked the public for help in locating Jacquelin Terrulli. The 6,000-square-foot home of Terrulli and Ronald Teschner — 86 Wickapecko Drive — became fully engulfed in flames two weeks ago.
