ABERDEEN, NJ — Aberdeen Township will be offering two more opportunities for residents to get free COVID-19 testing this December.

Additionally, the Township will host a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic in early January.

A MediMobile van will be at Aberdeen Town Hall on Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 to give out free rapid and PCR COVID tests. Both sessions will run from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Town Hall is located at 1 Aberdeen Square on Church Street, just off of South Atlantic Avenue.

(The tests will not be physically outside town hall. Testing will be done in the Aberdeen municipal court room.)

“We picked these testing days in December so that you and your family can get tested before traveling or before going to see your family for the holidays,” said Aberdeen Mayor Fred Tagliarini. “As the COVID numbers begin to rise, and the need for tests continue to go up, we here at Aberdeen Township hope these opportunities can take a little bit of stress out of what is surely a stressful time.”

Meanwhile, on Jan. 7 the Fiorendo Sigismondi Community Center will host a free vaccine clinic from the Monmouth County Health Department. Moderna, Pfizer and J&J initial vaccines and booster shots will be available from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The vaccines are available for anyone age 5 and older. The Community Center is located at 651 Prospect Avenue in the Cliffwood Beach section.

There are no out-of-pocket costs, with the tests covered by health insurance plans. Those without insurance will be covered for the tests under the CARES ACT. The Monmouth County Vaccine Clinic does not ask for any insurance information. Additionally, no appointments are needed.
