SAYREVILLE, NJ — Carolina Panthers defensive back and Sayreville native Myles Hartsfield will be in Sayreville Sunday, Aug. 28 for a back-to-school backpack giveaway.

Anyone can show up at the backpack giveaway; it is open to the public.

It will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Sayreville Junior Bombers Field during the Pop Warner Games. Bombers Field is located at 62 Dolan St, Sayreville New Jersey 08872

This will be the second year the giveaway takes place.

The backpack giveaway is sponsored by the Hartz Foundation. This event provides the opportunity to bring the community together and receive backpacks before the school year starts.

Started in 2020 by Hartsfield and his family, the Hartz Foundation continues to be a resource and support for the youth, volunteer services, charitable organizations within the community.

Hartsfield is a defensive back for the Carolina Panthers. He grew up in Sayreville and after playing four years at University of Mississippi where he was a freshman All-American, he entered into the 2020 NFL draft. Myles went undrafted but continued to work and earned a spot on the Panthers 53-man roster.

Hartsfield is now a starter in the NFL as a defensive back and special teams. This fall will mark his third season in the NFL.
