Man Stabbed To Death In Perth Amboy

Perth Amboy Police were called to the area of Smith/Maple streets​ at 8:59 p.m., where they found a 32-year-old man collapsed on the ground:

PERTH AMBOY, NJ — A man was fatally stabbed Sunday evening in Perth Amboy, announced Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

Perth Amboy Police were called to the area of Smith Street and Maple Street at 8:59 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, authorities located Jason Torres, 32, of Perth Amboy, who had collapsed.

He was taken to Hackensack Meridian Raritan Bay Medical Center, where he died.

Luis Alberto Serrano Diaz, 24, of Perth Amboy, was arrested and charged with the fatal stabbing. The two men knew each other.

Diaz is currently in police custody and is charged with first-degree murder, plus illegal weapons charges.
