Matawan Acupuncturist Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Patient

MATAWAN, NJ —An acupuncture doctor who run a clinic in Matawan has been criminally charged with sexually assaulting one of his patients, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago.

Dr. Jeng Kuan, 57, is the clinical director of Prosperity Health Center, at 952 Rt. 34 in Matawan.

Matawan Police received a report Jan. 25, a Thursday, from a female patient who said she had an acupuncture appointment with him, and that she had just been sexually assaulted.

Kuan, who also lives in Matawan, was charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.

Kuan was arrested without incident last Thursday, February 1. He is being lodged at the Monmouth County jail, pending his first appearance in Monmouth County Superior Court this Wednesday, February 7.
