Middletown Township hired Stan Slachetka, a professional planner with T&M Associates, to do the redevelopment study. The study was done to help the Middletown Planning Board determine which properties along Rt. 36 meet the criteria to be designated as an area in need of redevelopment for non-condemnation purposes.

"The problem with Hwy. 36 as everyone knows is that a lot of the lots are too narrow and too shallow," said Mayor Tony Perry this week. "A study like this allows the Township to possibly change the zoning to encourage redevelopment."
