HIGHLANDS, NJ — Here's everything the American Littoral Society has planned this July and August out at Sandy Hook.

With exceptions, nearly all of these events are free, making it an easy way to get out with kids, unwind and enjoy the natural world that surrounds our home.

Wingin' It Summer Bird Walk: Grab your favorite adventure buddy and join us for a bird walk. "Bird nerd” and Assistant Director Lindsay McNamara will lead the group, looking out for shorebirds, songbirds and anyone else on the Hook. Register on their website.

Junior Ranger Angler: Learn Surf Fishing: The National Park Service and the American Littoral Society are partnering again this summer to teach young people surf fishing on Sandy Hook. Children 11 and up are welcome with a supervising adult. Register on their website.
