MILLBURN, NJ — Essex County began accepting applications Thursday for its 2021 Emergency Rental Assistance Program grants. Property owners whose tenants were financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic may apply on tenants' behalf, or tenants may apply themselves.

Those awarded a grant can use the grant money for rent or utility bills. County offices will request information from applicants including income and a copy of their lease.

Awards will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, officials said.
