New Walkway Coming for Branch Brook Park

Two-mile Lenape walking path will extend from Heller Parkway to Bloomfield Avenue.

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. (fourth from left) and the Branch Brook Park Alliance announced on Friday, April 25, that the construction of the two-mile Lenape Walking Path in Essex County Branch Brook Park is underway.

The path will be made of a rubberized surface and provide park goers with a formal and safe trail through the Northern Division of Branch Brook Park, which extends from Heller Parkway to Bloomfield Avenue.

Standing at a section of the pathway already under construction and holding plans for the trail with the County Executive are (from left) Essex County Recreation and Open Space Trust Fund Advisory Board President Lori Tanner, Newark North Ward Councilman Anibal Ramos, Freeholder Leonard Luciano, Freeholder Vice President Patricia Sebold, Freeholder Rolando Bobadilla, Branch Brook Park Alliance Co-President Barbara Bell Coleman and NJ State Senator and Essex County Deputy Chief of Staff Teresa Ruiz.
