Short Hills Makes Nation's Priciest Zip Code List

Essex County town community makes the top 100 most expensive zip codes in the nation.

SHORT HILLS, NJ - Short Hills has made the top 100 list of most expensive zip codes in the nation last Monday, according to the website PropertyShark.

PropertyShark released their annual report on the 100 most expensive zip codes in the U.S. where Short Hills just made the list at number 100.

The methodology used in the list to figure out the most exclusive residential areas in the country bases their national ranking of zip codes based on actual closed sale prices, and not asking prices.

According to PropertyShark, this methodology is the most accurate benchmark of the country’s most expensive areas, as it allows the ranking of highly competitive markets where bidding wars push the sale price far above the initial asking price and at the same time it also means that ultra-luxury listings that stay on the market for extended periods of time and sell with substantial price cuts don’t skew rankings either.

According to the list, the median sales price of a home in in Short Hills is $1.426 million.
