Montclair Iris Garden Opening May 9

Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. and Presby Gardens Board President Nancy Skje-Lawes will open the season Friday morning.

The Presby Iris Gardens in Montclair are opening for the season on May 9 with a day of events featuring an author talk and a honeybee demonstration.

The season kicks off Friday morning at 10 with an opening ceremony featuring Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. and Presby Gardens Board President Nancy Skje-Lawes followed by author Michael Devine. Devine will speak and sign books at 11 a.m. 

At 1 p.m. guests can listen to iris lore and legends with Garden Director Claudia Kolster or attend a presentation called “The Miraculous Honeybee!” with Rutgers Extension Agent & Beekeeper Jan Zientek.
