Free Father's Day Event June 17 At East Jersey Old Town Village

Bring Dad and the kids June 17 for geocaching, watch an old-time baseball game or tour a historic home from the American Revolutionary War:

PISCATAWAY, NJ — This upcoming Father’s Day weekend, come to East Jersey Old Town Village as they use geocaching to host the world’s largest treasure hunt!

What on earth is geocaching? If you have a smartphone, you can geocache. Use your phone to find treasure hidden throughout the park; park staff will explain how. Older kids usually love it.

It's all part of a Father's Day weekend event at East Jersey Old Town Village, the historical 18th-century village run by Middlesex County in Piscataway. Held from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, June 17, bring the kids for a geocaching experience or cheer on the Liberty Baseball Club of New Brunswick in their annual Father’s Day Vintage Baseball Game against the Flemington Neshanocks.

The whole family can enjoy learning baseball the way it was played in the 1800s by using old-timey uniforms, equipment and rules.

Or, just tour the historic East Jersey Old Town Village and the Cornelius Low House, free and open to the public year-round, Wednesday through Sunday with living history interpreters onsite April through October and a packed schedule of special events.

This free event is open to the public. There are also usually food trucks on site.
