Longtime Middlesex County Court Employee Passes Away

Michael "Mickey" Olchaskey was a longtime court aide with the Middlesex County court system in New Brunswick.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Michael “Mickey” Olchaskey passed away Monday, January 9 at the age of 68.

He was a resident of Toms River, since retiring from his longtime job with the Middlesex County court system in New Brunswick, where he worked as a court aide.

A devout Catholic, he attended St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Toms River, and formerly belonged to St. Thomas, where he served as an usher.

Mickey was loved by all who knew him. He was a kind, giving man who loved spreading joy wherever he went. An excellent bowler, he bowled in leagues at Carolier Lanes in North Brunswick, where his father Sonny owned the restaurant, and his brother OJ owned the pro shop.

An avid Eagles fan, he never missed a chance to cheer them on to victory.

Mickey resides forever in our hearts. He is survived by his partner Jill Ostman, four stepchildren, Joshua Schuster and his wife Jenna, Jordana Schuster and her husband Allen, Michael Beberman and Sara Beberman, and 8 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother Dorothy, father Sonny , and his brother James “OJ” Olchaskey.

A service will be held at 12 noon on Feb. 3 at St Maximilian Kolbe Church in Toms River. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Maximilian Kolbe Church.
