New Brunswick Gets State Money To Repave Sandford Street

The project will take place some time in 2021; an exact date has not been given yet.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — The state of New Jersey recently allocated a total of $161 million to more than 500 towns for road repairs and improvements, and New Brunswick was on that list.

The city of New Brunswick will receive a total of $650,000 for the repaving of Sandford Street. Underground work will also be done.

The project will take place some time in 2021; an exact date has not been given yet. The city has two years to use these funds for this project.

Under the Municipal Aid grant program, each county is allocated a share of the total funding based on population and the number of local centerline miles, according to the governor's office. Municipalities compete for portions of their county's share.
