NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Activists are planning to hold an abortion rights rally on the steps of New Brunswick City Hall at 6 p.m. Friday as the U.S. Supreme Court makes the historic decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

According to organizers, the protest would take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, the day the court ruling is announced.

The rally is organized by the League of Women Voters, which will hold similar abortion-rights rallies — or rallies for what they call reproductive freedom — Friday evening in South Orange, in front of Morristown town hall and Cherry Hill Unitarian Universalist Church.

League of Women Voters writes:

"Join us the evening the Supreme Court decision is released overturning 50 years of precedent and taking away the constitutional right to abortion. The LWVNJ is a member of the THRIVE NJ coalition spearheading this and other rallies calling on action in NJ, including the passing of NJ Bill A4350, to strengthen access to reproductive health care and ensure that everyone — regardless of income, insurance coverage or immigration status — can access the care they need to make their own personal decisions about their bodies and their lives."
