NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Rutgers University police issued a traffic advisory for the Cook/Douglass campus in New Brunswick on Saturday, as a charity walk will close some roads in the morning.

The Save Soil Walkathon is going on in more than 60 cities in the U.S. and Latin America, including in New Brunswick.

From 8:30 a.m. to noon, the following roads will be closed:

  • College Farm Road
  • Dudley Road between College Farm Road and Biel Road
  • Lipman Drive
  • Red Oak Lane
  • Biel Road between Dudley Road and Lot 99A (Biel Rd will be accessible from Ryders Ln during this time)

Parking lots and bus stops along the roadways will also be inaccessible.

This Save Soil Movement was launched "to create awareness about soil degradation and bring policies to safeguard soil health by increasing the organic content in soil to a minimum of 3-6% across all nations."
