BERGENFIELD, NJ - Bergen County officials are seeking information leading to the arrest of a man charged in connection with an attempted murder in a Bergenfield home on Sunday.

At around 6:50 p.m., the Bergenfield Police Department responded to a report of shots fired within an area home, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said in a Thursday statement.

At the scene, first responders found a 20-year-old female victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, Musella said. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.

A subsequent investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Bergenfield Police Department found that Aaron Sierra, 22, of Bergenfield, shot the victim and fled the scene, Musella said.

Sierra was charged the following day with attempted murder, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a handgun, receiving stolen property and obstruction of justice by flight, Musella said. He has yet to be apprehended.
