Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of FERNANDA YOUNG (DOB:11/23/1988; single; unemployed) of 3010 Brook Street, Oakland, California on drug offenses. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

On February 17, 2022, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force revealed that FERNANDA YOUNG was transporting bulk shipments of marijuana through Bergen County. During this investigation, a search was conducted on a U-Haul rental truck in Carlstadt, NJ. The search revealed packages of marijuana with a total weight of 236 pounds, along with crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl. YOUNG was arrested at the scene of the search.

FERNANDA YOUNG was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana over 25 lbs. with the intent to distribute, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(10)a; third-degree possession of methamphetamine, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); and third-degree possession of fentanyl, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1). She was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending her first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Mark Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
