Mosquito Spraying To Be Conducted In New Milford

Spraying will be done south of Henley Avenue to East Woodland Road and between Boulevard and Columbia Street.

NEW MILFORD, NJ — Bergen County Mosquito Control will spray for mosquitoes Thursday morning.

Spraying will be conducted from 3 to 6 a.m. using a truck and Duet Aduliticde from south of Henley Avenue to East Woodland Road and between Boulevard and Columbia Street.

Residents should keep their windows closed and pets indoors from 3 to 8 a.m., officials said.

If there is inclement weather, spraying will take place Friday.

More than 60 mosquito samples have tested positive for the Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus, also known as "EEE" or "Triple E." Human infections of the deadly virus have tripled in New Jersey recently, and there is evidence it has spread to 13 New Jersey counties, the New Jersey Department of Health reported.
