New Milford Doughnut Shop Wins Top Prize At NYC Festival

NEW MILFORD, NJ – Glaze Donuts took home the Judges’ Choice Award at Donut Fest 2015 in New York City Saturday.

Jule Hazou won the grand prize for the family-owned shop’s Cannoli doughnut, which is filled with cannoli cream and topped with crumbled cannoli shell pieces.

Hazou also showcased the shop’s rainbow donut, a take on the classic tri-colored Italian cookies. Glaze was one of eight area doughnut shops to participate in the annual festival.

Glaze brought the modern donut trend to Bergen County when it opened in 2014. It features dozens of homemade varieties, including a variety of artisan flavors like the maple bacon, topped with maple frosting and chopped applewood smoked bacon, or the bananas foster, which is filled with Bavarian cream topped with cream, bananas, pecans, and caramel drizzle.
