Bergen County Named Fourth Healthiest County in NJ, According to Ranking

Counties were ranked by comparing 30 factors that influence health including education, housing, violent crime, jobs, diet and exercise.

Bergen County is the fourth healthiest county in New Jersey, according to the sixth annual County Health Rankings.

Bergen County’s length of life was ranked fourth out of 21 counties, its quality of life was ranked sixth and its health factors were ranked fourth. The County was also ranked fifth for health behaviors, fourth for clinical care and social and economic factors, and second for physical environment.

The rankings, which were released by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, were brought about by comparing 30 factors that influence health including education, housing, violent crime, jobs, diet and exercise.

The top five healthiest counties in New Jersey are Hunterdon, Somerset, Morris, Bergen, and Middlesex in that order, while the five counties in the poorest health are Cumberland, Atlantic, Camden, Salem, and Essex starting with the least healthy.
