BOONTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Firefighters from more than a dozen Morris County companies responded to a blaze that broke out in a rural part of Boonton, officials said.

The fire broke out on Miller Drive at about 2:15 p.m. Sunday, and the Boonton Fire Department and Denville Fire Department were first to respond and confirmed a working fire that was spreading smoke. As the fire conditions became heavier and flames began venting through the roof, more departments were called out to assist.

The Morris Plains Fire Department was also dispatched for an air truck, and it took crews about an hour and a half to place the fire under control.
