Burglars Break Into Home, Steal 2 Cars In Parsippany: Police

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Several car and home burglaries and attempted vehicle thefts were reported in the township last week, according to the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Police Department blotter.

Over the past week, three burglaries and attempted burglaries to homes and cars in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township were reported.

Police are urging residents to keep all vehicles locked, along with all home windows and doors. If a home is equipped with a home security system, residents should keep the system on at all times.

Here are the burglaries and attempted burglaries reported recently:

On Jan. 23, local police officers responded to a reported residential burglary and car theft on Nicki Court. According to authorities, at around 7:30 a.m., the homeowner reported that an unknown suspect(s) had entered his home through a window.

The homeowner was able to watch CCTV footage and saw two unknown suspects enter his home around 5 a.m.; however, the residents did not hear the perpetrators coming inside.

The unknown suspects then moved one vehicle out of the way in the driveway and stole a 2023 BMW IX and a 2019 Audi Q7.

Shortly after 9 a.m., Parsippany police were notified that the Newark Police Department had discovered the 2023 BWM IX vacant. At about 1 p.m., the Newark Police Department spotted the stolen 2019 Audi and arrested the two males inside.

They were charged by Newark PD accordingly, police said.

On Jan. 23, at 7:22 p.m., Parsippany police officers responded to a report of a vehicle burglary on Brooklawn Drive. The victim reported to police that two vehicles were broken into in his driveway between 7 p.m. on Jan. 22 and 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 23.

According to the police, the unknown suspect(s) stole two pairs of sunglasses and a pocket knife from one vehicle.

On Jan. 24, at around 3:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle from 60 E. Halsey Road. Upon their arrival, the victim told members of the police department that a security officer had seen his 2024 Red Land Rover being driven off the property and alerted him.

During the investigation, the victim told police that a set of keys were left in the vehicle.

The car was subsequently located by the Newark Police Department on Jan. 25.

The Parsippany Police Department continues to advise everyone to report any suspicious activity by calling the department's telephone number. Residents should lock their vehicles without keys and keep valuables out of sight.

The investigation into those three incidents remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Parsippany Department’s Investigative Division at 973-263-4300.
