Drunk Morris Co. NFL Fan Punches Nurse: Police

An intoxicated fan at the Giants-Patriots NFL game was taken to Hudson Regional Hospital when he punched a nurse attempting to treat him.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — An intoxicated Morris County man at the Giants-Patriots NFL game has been charged with aggravated assault after assaulting a nurse on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

According to Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller, Todd Lent, 54, of Kinnelon, was at a football game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford before he was taken by EMTs to Hudson Regional Hospital, located at 55 Meadowlands Parkway.

Lent was taken to the hospital for treatment of over-intoxication, according to officials.

Miller said that while a nurse was attempting to treat him in the emergency room, Lent punched her on the left side of her face with a closed fist.

Secaucus police responded to the hospital at 3:12 p.m. and charged Lent with aggravated assault. He was then issued his complaint summons and released from police custody.
