Missing Morris County Teen May Be In New York, Police Say

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A Morris County teen who has been missing for two weeks might be in New York, according to an update from the Montville Township Police Department.

Police said that they are currently working alongside the New York Police Department in the search for John Tzimas, a 17-year-old who went missing on Oct. 20.

Tzimas, who has been described as a white male with short, sandy-colored hair, was last seen wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and an orange/blue sweatshirt (one on top of the other), black sweatpants and Nike Jordan shoes.

Police told Patch that they were choosing not to release Tzimas' photograph, as they were "following up on some leads" in relation to the investigation, but offered no other information.

According to the Montville Police Department, Tzimas was initially reported missing along with four other teenagers who were last seen near the Lake Valhalla region of Montville.

On Oct. 21, Montville Township police stated that officers searched throughout the night and were able to locate four of the five missing teens, but Tzimas was not found.

The police stated that they were concerned for his well-being and that none of the five teenagers were involved in any criminal activity.
