Pedestrian Killed Monday In Route 23 Crash: Morris County Officials

BUTLER, NJ — A male pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver on Route 23 on Monday evening in Butler, county officials said.

The collision took place around 8 p.m. near the Route 23 North intersection with Center Court, said the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. The man, who has not been identified, died at the scene.

Authorities said that the driver is cooperating with law enforcement, and that there is "an active ongoing investigation" into the crash.

Officials did not release additional information on Tuesday morning. Further information about the investigation may be released if charges are brought forward, a spokesperson for the prosecutor's office said.

Butler Police and the Morris County Sheriff's Office are also involved in investigating the crash.
