PARSIPPANY, NJ — Work tools, landscaping lights, and a construction sweeper are among the items that were reported stolen recently to the Parsippany Police Department.

Police shared a list of some notable calls for service from Feb. 2 through Feb. 13, including:

On Feb. 7 at 9:52 a.m., an officer was conducting a property check of the Rutgers Village Apartments on Rutgers Lane when the property manager told him a Chevy Camaro had been in the lot for several months. The officer discovered the vehicle had been stolen out of Franklin Township, and police are continuing to investigate.

On Feb. 8., a homeowner on Stephen Terrace noticed two of the landscaping lights on his front lawn were missing. Police said the homeowner checked surveillance footage, and observed a man wearing a blue jacket remove one light on Feb. 7, and one light on Feb. 8. "The homeowner advised the reporting officer that he observed the male park what appeared to be a mini-van up the street from the victim’s home and pace back and forth in forth before stealing the light," police added. Officers are continuing to investigate.

On Feb. 9, police investigated a stolen power sweeper which was parked in the rear lot of 1719 Route 10 East. The eight-foot machine is described as a red Broce Manufacturing Power Sweeper, Model BW-260. The sweeper belongs to PSE&G, who has been working on Johnson Road. "It should be noted that the suspect(s) would require prior knowledge of how to start and operate the vehicle," police said. Officers are continuing to investigate.

On Feb. 11 at 8:24 a.m., police responded to a business on Old Bloomfield Avenue, after a reported catalytic converter theft from a 2003 Ford Econoline van. Officers are continuing to investigate.

On Feb. 13 at 11 a.m., police took a report of work tools being stolen from a Ford van parked in the Partridge Run Apartment Complex at 130 New Rd. The estimated value of the stolen tools is $1,520, and police will continue investigating.
