Woman Plowing Snow Dies After ATV Crash In Morris County: Police

The woman's family members tried to revive her after the ATV went down an embankment and overturned onto her, officials said.

BUTLER, NJ — A woman died after the ATV she was plowing her driveway with went over an embankment and overturned Tuesday evening in Butler, officials said.

First responders arrived to a residence on Washington Street after a 911 caller reported an unresponsive woman under an ATV, according to police. Family members were trying to revive the 69-year-old woman, who was lying next to the overturned vehicle when first responders arrived.

Paramedics, EMTs, and police officers also attempted to resuscitate the woman, but she was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Police have not identified the victim yet, and the incident is under investigation.

The woman was plowing the snow in her driveway when the ATV went down an embankment at the rear of the property, officials said in their preliminary report. The crash took place around 7 p.m.

The Kinnelon Police Department and the Butler Fire Department were also on scene, police said.
