POINT PLEASANT, NJ — The goods are very good, and Jersey is known for its produce, but you've got to show up to gather them at your local farmer's market around Point Pleasant.

Local farmer's markets, both outdoor and indoor, just keep growing in popularity. There is so much to draw us out. Local businesses can make a showing and it's a chance to sample something. Artists and artisans may be displaying their work, and there's often music.

Here are a few farmers markets in the Point Pleasant area where you can shop for what's fresh and local.

Point Pleasant Beach Farmers Market opens for the season on June 5 at The Gazebo on Arnold Avenue. Market hours will be Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Don't miss out on the goods and fun.

Brick Farmers Market is open at Windward Beach on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The list of vendors is long and inviting, so plan to come out. The market is sponsored in part by a grant from the Ocean County commissioners.

Berry Fresh Farms in Brick is a seasonal fresh produce market and garden center. They're open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except for Sundays when they close at 5 p.m. Find Berry Fresh Farms at 151 Brick Blvd.
