Point Pleasant Boro Schools Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Summer is almost over for Point Pleasant students. The first day of school in the Point Pleasant Borough School District is Wednesday, Sept. 4.

If you are new to the town and need to register your child for school, information on what is needed is available on the district's website.

Orientation and new student days have been scheduled and are published on the district calendar and parent guide on the website. Point Pleasant High School orientation is Aug. 21; Nellie Bennett Elementary is Aug. 23; Ocean Road School orientation is Aug. 28. Memorial Middle School is holding its open house for sixth graders on Aug. 28, and orientation for new students on Aug. 29.

Back-to-school nights are scheduled in September, with Memorial Middle School set for Sept. 17; Point Pleasant High School is Sept. 19; Ocean Road School is Sept. 25, and Nellie Bennett Elementary is Sept. 26.

There is one emergency closing day built into the calendar. If additional closures are needed there will be a partial school day for students on Monday, March 10, with staff in-service in the afternoon. If there is an additional emergency closing, there will be a partial school day for students on Friday, May 23, for students and staff. From there, schools will be closed on Thursday, June 19, and days will be added to the end of the school year beginning on Friday, June 20.

• NJEA Convention, no school: Thursday, Nov. 7-Friday, Nov. 8
• Point Pleasant High School Fall Play: Thursday, Nov. 21-Saturday, Nov. 23
• Thanksgiving break: Early dismissal, Wednesday, Nov. 27; no school, Thursday, Nov. 28-Friday, Nov. 29
• Parent-teacher conferences: Tuesday, Dec. 3-Friday, Dec. 6
• Winter break: Early dismissal, Friday, Dec. 20; no school, Monday, Dec. 23-Wednesday, Jan. 1
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school: Monday, Jan. 20
• Presidents Day, no school: Monday, Feb. 17
• In-service day, no school for students: Monday, March 10
• Point Pleasant High School spring play: Thursday, March 20-Sunday, March 23
