Flash Flood Watch, Excessive Heat Warning Issued For Princeton

PRINCETON, NJ — A flash flood watch and an excessive heat warning have been issued for Princeton by the National Weather Service.

The flash flood watch is in effect from 2 p.m. through late Wednesday night.

The remnants of what was Tropical Cyclone Barry are expected to pass through the region later today bringing potentially heavy showers and thunderstorms, according to the NWS.

Too much runoff water could cause flooding in urban and poor drainage areas. Some fast-responding small streams may also flood.

A total of one to two inches of rain is expected to fall in the area.

An excessive heat warning was also issued through Sunday with the heat index going up to 110 due to temperatures in the upper 90s, and dewpoints in the lower 70s.

An air quality alert was also issued for Princeton for Wednesday.
