Flood Watch Issued For Princeton Through Friday

Periods of heavy rain will continue into Friday with up to three inches of rain possible, according to the National Weather Service.

PRINCETON, NJ — A flood watch has been issued for Princeton from Thursday afternoon through Friday by the National Weather Service due to expected heavy rain in the coming days.

Light rain is expected to hit the area on Wednesday night and then intensify later in the day on Thursday, according to the NWS.

Periods of heavy rain will continue into Friday with up to three inches of rain possible. As a result, flooding is possible.

Wednesday Night: Rain, mainly after 11 p.m. Low around 36. East wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: Rain. High near 51. East wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90 perent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 42. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Friday: Rain before 8 a.m., then showers, mainly between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 46. East wind 8 to 14 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. West wind 13 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27.

Sunday: A chance of snow showers, mixing with rain after 11 a.m., then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday Night: A chance of rain and snow after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
