Wind Advisory In Effect For Princeton Monday

Winds blowing from west to northwest are expected to reach speeds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, the NWS reported.

PRINCETON, NJ — A wind advisory is in effect from noon through 10 p.m. on Monday in Princeton, the National Weather Service announced.

Winds blowing from west to northwest are expected to reach speeds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

"Strong winds will blow around unsecured objects and may blow down tree limbs and power lines," the the NWS reported. "Scattered power outages can be expected."

Additionally, due to heavy rains causing ground saturation, trees and and power lines will be more susceptible to strong winds.

Drivers should be careful when driving as winds could effect driving conditions. Locals should also secure any light-weight outdoor objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans.

Monday: A chance of showers before noon, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Breezy, with a west wind 17 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 37. Breezy, with a northwest wind 17 to 22 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 62. West wind 11 to 13 mph.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Northeast wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 66.

Thursday Night: A chance of rain before 2 a.m., then a chance of showers after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Friday: Showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Friday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
