RED BANK, NJ — The goods are very good, and Jersey is known for its produce, but you've got to show up to gather them at your local farmer's market around Red Bank.

Local farmer's markets, both outdoor and indoor, just keep growing in popularity. There is so much to draw us out. Local businesses can make a showing and it's a chance to sample something. Artists and artisans may be displaying their work, and there's often music.

Here are a few farmers markets around Red Bank where you can shop for what's fresh and local.

Sickles in Red Bank sells fresh produce, gourmet groceries, plants and garden products in its shop at 200 Monmouth St. The Red Bank market opens at 7 a.m. to serve coffee and baked goods and the full market is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sickles also has a market in Little Silver, New Jersey.

The Galleria Red Bank Farmers Market happens on Sundays at the Galleria parking lot 2, on Bridge Avenue and W. Front Street, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Galleria Red Bank Farmers Market brings fresh, locally-grown produce from Jersey farmers along with crafts and other goods more than 40 vendors.

Capelli Farms in Lincroft announced it will not open its farm stand for the 2022 season because of a staffing shortage, but said its nursery on Kanes Lane in Middletown will be open.

Route 9 Farmers Market is in Freehold and up in South Amboy as well as in 10 other north and central New Jersey locations. Part of the Farmers Market Group, the Freehold market is open Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. and on Sunday 8 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. It's at 3681 U.S. 9 and there is plenty of fresh produce.
