Britcher selected to 2024 Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers for the fourth year (2020, 2022-2024)

E. Drew Britcher, Esq., of Britcher Leone & Sergio, LLC, of Glen Rock and Morristown, N.J., has
been selected to the 2024 Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers for the fourth year (2020, 2022-2024). Britcher was previously selected to the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America in 2008.
Britcher, who is co-founder of Britcher, Leone & Sergio and leads its trial practice, focuses on
complex medical negligence claims and has successfully prosecuted and resolved matters
totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. Britcher is certified by the New Jersey State Supreme
Court as a Civil Trial Attorney and has been recertified four times. He has tried nearly 100 cases
to verdict and has served as either counsel of record or amicus counsel in nearly 40 reported
decisions of the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division, as well as the United States
Supreme Court.
For 10 years, he has also been named one of the “Top 10” attorneys by New Jersey Super
Lawyers and in 2024 was ranked #3 among New Jersey Super Lawyers. In addition, in 2024, he
was named to the Top 100 by New Jersey Super Lawyers for the 19 th consecutive year, and for
the 20th consecutive year (since its inception), was recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers.
Making him the only Medical Malpractice lawyer to achieve all of those honors.
Britcher has been included in The Best Lawyers in America since 2021 and was recognized in
2023 as a “Lawyer of the Year” which is awarded to only one lawyer within the region and
practice area, specifically in the medical malpractice area for Bergen County, NJ. He is AV rated
by Martindale Hubbell. In 2017, he received the “Above and Beyond Award” from the American
Association for Justice in 2017, as well as its “Distinguished Service Award” in 2011 and in
2020, and earned similar awards from its predecessor, the Association of Trial Lawyers of
America, in 2009 and 2004.
He is a Past-President of the New Jersey Association for Justice, formerly the Association of
Trial Lawyers of America-New Jersey Chapter (ATLA-NJ), where he has also chaired its
Amicus and Medical Malpractice committees for over two decades. He is a Fellow of the
American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and a member of the Board of Trial Attorneys of
New Jersey (TANJ).

Britcher helped draft the language of New Jersey’s Patients First and Patient Safety Acts and is
an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law where he teaches courses in
Medical Malpractice Law and Medical Malpractice Litigation.
He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, as well as before the U.S. Court of
Federal Claims. He earned a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.A. from Rutgers College,
where he was inducted as a member of the Order of the Barristers and a Loyal Son, respectively.
He is a resident of Parsippany, NJ.
