E. Drew Britcher, Esq., of Britcher, Leone & Sergio, LLC, has been named one of the top 10
attorneys for 2024 by New Jersey Super Lawyers, marking the 10 th year
that he has been honored among the Top 10 (Britcher is only one of seven
attorneys in New Jersey to have been recognized among the Top 10 for 10 years). Britcher was ranked #3 among New Jersey Super Lawyers selectees for 2024.
In addition, 2024 marks the 19th consecutive year he has been named to the Top 100
(only 1 of 9 attorneys to do so) and is only one of 287 attorneys in New Jersey that has
been recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers for all 20 years – since its inception. He
is the only Medical Malpractice lawyer to achieve all of these recognitions.
Britcher, who is co-founder of Britcher, Leone & Sergio and leads its trial practice,
focuses on complex medical negligence claims and has successfully prosecuted and
resolved matters totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. Britcher is certified by the New
Jersey State Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney and has been recertified four
times.
According to Co-Founder and Partner Armand Leone, Jr., M.D., Esq., “Drew is the only
attorney in New Jersey whose primary practice is medical malpractice law that has
achieved these accomplishments. But they only tell part of the story of how Drew has
made a difference for people who have been injured and their families.”
Specifically, Britcher has tried nearly 100 cases to verdict and has served as either
counsel of record or amicus counsel in nearly 45 reported decisions of the New Jersey
Supreme Court and Appellate Division, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
He also helped draft the language of the New Jersey’s Patients First and Patient Safety
Acts and is an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law where he
teaches courses in Medical Malpractice Law and Medical Malpractice Litigation.
He is a Past-President of the New Jersey Association for Justice, formerly the
Association of Trial Lawyers of America-New Jersey Chapter (ATLA-NJ), where he has
also chaired its Amicus and Medical Malpractice committees for over two decades. He
is a Fellow of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and a member of the
Board of Trial Attorneys of New Jersey (TANJ).
He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, as well as before the U.S. Court
of Federal Claims. He earned a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.A. from
Rutgers College, where he was inducted as a member of the Order of the Barristers and
a Loyal Son, respectively. He currently serves as the President of the New York Law
School Alumni Association and as a member of NYLS Board of Trustees. He is a
resident of Parsippany, NJ.
‘I am truly honored to have been selected again this year by Super Lawyers and
appreciate the recognition that allows us to share our most important value as a firm –
our commitment to helping transform our clients’ lives for the better.”
