Countywide 'Multicultural Fun Fest' With Music, Dance, And Trucks To Be Held In Ridgewood

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A free family event with facepainting, multicultural music and dance, emergency vehicles will be held in a Bergen County park next weekend.

The 21st Annual Multicultural Fun Fest to be held on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Saddle River County Park, Wild Duck Pond, in Ridgewood.

Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco, III and the Bergen County Board of Commissioners, in partnership with the Bergen County Department of Human Services, are pleased to announce the 21st Annual Multicultural Fun Fest to be held on Saturday, October 14th at the Saddle River County Park, Wild Duck Pond, in Ridgewood, NJ from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The free event is open to families with children ages 11 and under and will feature face painting, storytelling, multicultural music and dances, and other fun-filled activities for all to enjoy.

The event will also feature interactive trucks from around the County for families to explore and learn from. These include the Bergen County Animal Shelter Pet Adoption Van, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes trucks, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office bomb and SWAT trucks, and a fire simulation truck for families to learn about fire safety.

The Bergen County Clerk’s Office will also be in attendance, issuing Child ID Cards to Fun Fest participants.

Additional services and activities include inflatable Skee Ball and a demonstration by the Master Gardeners.

Children must be accompanied by an adult for these activities.

“The many programs and activities of the Multicultural Fun Fest will engage people of all ages”, said Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco III. “It is so important to spend quality time together and bond as a family. That is why the County of Bergen is very proud to host and sponsor such an enriching experience that is fun for both children and parents alike!”

“The Bergen County Multicultural Family Fun Fest is a wonderful annual event where families can come together and make memories,” said Bergen County Commissioner Rafael Marte. “There’s no better way to spend an afternoon than being outside in a beautiful open space with your family to enjoy music, activities, and more.”

Each Division from the Bergen County Department of Human Services will be present at the Multicultural Fun Fest with unique craft activities and information about their services.

An ice cream truck will be on-site, with Good Humor ice cream available for purchase.

The address of the event is 1133 East Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450. The event will take place on October 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a rain date of October 15.
