Nabisco Factory Demolition In Bergen County: What's Next?

After a planned demolition of the Nabisco factory in Fair Lawn was postponed due to the discovery of toxins, what comes next?

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Residents of Glen Rock, Fair Lawn, and other area towns planned to attend two informal meetings with state and federal health representatives on Wednesday meant to discuss toxic projects around Fair Lawn. Some intended to ask about the future of the Nabisco factory in Fair Lawn. A meeting is also coming up regarding that factory in early September.

A planned full demolition of the site in May 2023 was called off after toxins were discovered.

Published reports say a warehouse or offices may come to the site, but residents are concerned because they aren't sure of the future of the existing property, particularly how the existing building would come down.
