RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Modern libraries are about more than just books these days; some provide respite from the cold, supplies, English languages classes, job training, or just a place to stop and think.

This coming weekend, the Ridgewood Public Library will continue its celebration of 100 years of public library service. The George L. Pease Memorial Library opened on Dec. 28, 1923.

Local history librarian Sarah Kiefer and village historian Peggy Norris will come together this Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. to provide a history of library services within the Ridgewood community, including an overview of the Friends of the Ridgewood Public Library's founding. Light refreshments will be served. See more about that event here.
