RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Part of the James Rose Center, a historic, and uniquely constructed, Ridgewood home, is available to rent.

The center is seeking a new tenant for its north studio at $1,700 a month. The studio features private outdoor space and off-street parking.

The "ideal renter is eager to participate in the stewardship" of the property, according to the center.

The East Ridgewood Avenue property is the former home of landscape architect James Rose and the headquarters of a nonprofit landscape research and study foundation. Rose built the house in 1953 for his family. It is listed on the state Register of Historic Places.

The center is composed of interconnected garden pavilions that are held together with light frames. Engineers discovered problems with the property after a tree fell and damaged part of the roof in May 2016.
