July 23, at 10 AM, Lily Carayannis will lead the Sunday service at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood. She will reflect on the slogan "Trans rights are human rights!"--often said as a group of people fight for basic dignities afforded their cisgender peers.

She explains, "This week we will look closer at how the right to express yourself how you want, live a public life, make personal medical decisions for yourself, and to love who you love are rights that all of us, cis, trans, or non-binary deserve. These rights are core not only to liberal religion, but to a healthy and loving society as a whole. How can we protect them?"

Lily is an aspirant to Unitarian Universalist Ministry, a graduate of Union Theological Seminary, and a member of the Board of UU Faith Action New Jersey. She works for the New York City Civilian Complaint Review Board investigating allegations of police misconduct made against members of the NYPD.
